RESEARCH FIELDS

  • Synthetic organic chemistry. Synthesis of organometallic compounds and their study by E.P.R. spectroscopy. Organic synthesis via catalysis. Synthesis of complex compounds with organic ligands. Synthesis of terpene derivatives.
  • Development of new methods of peptide synthesis in solution and in solid phase. Synthesis and study of peptides of biological and pharmaceutical interest. Synthesis and study of phospholipase inhibitors. Synthesis and study of fluorogenic substrates for proteases. Inhibitors of metalloproteases: synthesis, conformational analysis, enzyme studies. Synthesis of a-amino acid derivatives. Development of methods for synthesis of optically active compounds from amino acids.
  • Studies of free radicals of organic compounds. Spin-trapping methods. Risk assessment of carcinogens in the occupational and ambient environment.
  • Design, synthesis and study of new compounds with anticancer and radioprotective properties. Design, synthesis and study of thiosemicarbazones.
